I’m in Pain

I’m in pain, don’t trivialize it

It should not be one of those things

Shrugged off under the label of passion and love

Don’t make me seem crazy, don’t say hormones

My feelings are valid, not always estrogen

I’m in pain, don’t trivialize it

I’m in pain, don’t normalize it

Don’t give me examples of people that live it

Then tell me it happens, life sucks

Because sometimes what happens shouldn’t

Though I am powerless to change it right now

I’m in pain, don’t normalize it

I’m in pain, don’t patronize me

Don’t tell me you understand

Because nobody should, nobody should

Can’t you see me falling apart

Just be silent, silently waiting

I’m in pain, don’t patronize me

I’m in pain, don’t rationalize it

I have no need for logic and options

I would like to explode and unravel

I would like to feel out all my feelings

So don’t trivialize, normalize, or rationalize it

And worst of all, don’t patronize me
